Admission to Landmark University's Postgraduate Program - 2022/2023

Applications are being accepted from suitable and qualified applicants for admission to Landmark University's School of Postgraduate Studies for the academic year 2022/2023 in the following postgraduate courses:

REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION IN GENERAL

Doctoral (Ph.D.) Degree Programmes

Any graduate of Landmark University, Omu-Aran, or any other university recognized by the Landmark University Senate with a Master's degree relevant to the intended program is eligible for admission to any of the Doctoral programs. However, such a potential applicant should have received the following grades:
  • An average of at least 60% (3.5 CGPA) in his/her Master degree programme.
  • Between 55% – 59% to qualify for M.Phil. Ph.D.
  • Between 50% – 54% to qualify for M.Phil. Programme.
Academic transcripts and recommendations from two academic referees from the applicant's prior tertiary institution must accompany or support all applications for admission.

For full-time candidates, the duration of a Ph.D. degree program is a minimum of six (6) semesters and a maximum of ten (10) semesters for full-time candidates. Where applicable, relevant courses will be taken for Ph.D. studies, and a Thesis will be required at the end of the program.

Master's Degree Programme

Any graduate of Landmark University, Omu-Aran, or any other university recognized by the Landmark University Senate who meets the following qualifications is eligible to enroll in one of the Master's degree programs.
  • At least a minimum of Second Class Lower Honours Degree of Landmark University, Omu Aran, or any other University recognized by the Senate, in relevant discipline.
  • Third Class Bachelor’s degree and a good PGD.
  • HND (minimum of Merit grade) plus PGD.
Academic transcripts and recommendations from two academic referees from the applicant's prior tertiary institution must accompany or support all applications for admission.

Course Duration: For full-time candidates, the duration of a Master's degree program is three (3) semesters minimum and five (5) semesters maximum. For the Master's degree, relevant courses will be studied. Following the research, a dissertation is written.

Postgraduate Diploma Programmes

Any graduate of Landmark University, Omu-Aran, or any other Tertiary Institution recognized by the Landmark University Senate who meets the following prerequisites is eligible to enroll in one of the Postgraduate Diploma programs.
  • Five (5) credit passes at " levels, covering English, Math, and three other necessary subjects
  • Candidates having a bachelor's degree from an accredited university must earn at least a third (3rd) class in the relevant discipline.
  • Holders of an HND from an approved institution in a related program with a minimum of a Pass in the subjects.
Academic transcripts and recommendations from two academic referees from the applicant's prior tertiary institution must be submitted with all admissions applications.

Course Duration: For full-time candidates, the duration of a Postgraduate Diploma program is two (2) semesters minimum and four (4) semesters maximum.

APPLICATION METHOD

  • Interested candidates can go to https://spgs.lmu.edu.ng/app to begin the application process right now.
  • The application period for the 2020/2021 Postgraduate Degree/Diploma Programs is now open.
  • Applicants interested in enrolling in Landmark University's Postgraduate Degrees/Diplomas should fill out the online Application Form and submit any requisite credentials/certificates, including the National Youth Service Corps Discharge or Exemption Certificate, as applicable.
  • The Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies, Landmark University, Omu-Aran, will receive printed copies of the completed Application Form and photocopies of the attached credentials in triplicate.
  • Please keep in mind that no one will be admitted to a course unless their application has been approved by the Board of School of Postgraduate Studies on behalf of Senate and on the recommendation of the appropriate Departmental Postgraduate Board, and they have met all of the expected admission requirements.
  • All incoming students who are not graduates of Landmark University, Omu-Aran, must take the University's Oath of Allegiance.
    OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • All Higher Degree candidates who attended foreign universities where English was not the medium of instruction should present evidence of their English language skills, such as TOEFL or IELTS results, to the Postgraduate School.
  • All applicants for Postgraduate Diploma and Master's Degree programs will be required to take a qualifying exam. International candidates for PGD and Master's degrees, on the other hand, will participate in an online evaluation conversation. Applicants seeking a doctoral degree must submit a Doctoral Thesis Proposal along with their application. Hard copies of the proposals should be sent to the Secretary, Landmark University, Omu-School Aran's of Postgraduate Studies.
  • At the time of registration, candidates seeking for any of the University's full-time programs must show a letter of release from their job.
  • Applicants in the PGD and Master's degree categories will be notified of the date of their qualifying exams in a timely manner.

The Landmark University Postgraduate School, in partnership with the University's International Office and Linkages, creates a warm and welcoming environment for international Postgraduate students. For quick integration into the system and culture, necessary socio-cultural programs are put in place.
