Epic Games has released a new Fortnite update, v24.01 (3.85). Here's everything we know so far about the new release.
It's been ten days since the release of Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2, which introduced several new locations on the southeast side of the map, as well as new vehicles, weapons, and the Kinetic Blade.
We weren't expecting a new patch release this week, as data miners stated that the next major release wouldn't be available until the week beginning March 27th.
Epic Games, on the other hand, has announced a new update, v24.01, which was released today, March 20th, 2023. Everything you need to know about the latest release is right here.
Are the Fortnite Servers Down Right Now? 20 March 2023
When Epic Games releases a new Fortnite patch, the servers go down for a few hours. That hasn't changed with the release of the v24.01 (3.85) update.
Epic Games has announced that the servers will be unavailable for scheduled maintenance at 4 a.m. ET / 8 a.m. UTC. Matchmaking will be turned off 30 minutes before the downtime.
The servers are expected to be back online around 6 a.m. ET / 10 a.m. UTC. When the servers are back online, you'll find out.
Fortnite Update 3.85 (v24.01) Patch Notes - 20 March 2023
As the update number, v24.01 indicates, today's update will not include any major additions that we're used to seeing in other major releases.
This update is likely to include some Creative 2.0 (UEFN) files, as well as bug fixes and performance improvements. Since the first day of the season, players have been complaining about jittering and other performance issues. These issues should be addressed in the 3.85 updates.
It's unlikely that any new cosmetics will be added to the files. Previous v.01 updates did not include any new cosmetics, but if they do, we will cover any leaks during downtime.
